For the videos of the sinking and resurrection of his UFlak, and all the happiness and delusion of the fishermen.

Dedicated, passionate yet polite (not to be undervalued) and an important part of our continued optimism in this great genre, and specifically his efforts on FOTRS Ultimate within SHIV.

For all the interchange and job, making a dream: SH4 with all the bells sounding, the best WIP supermod.

Regards.

I would second that nomination for Rockin Robbins as well. The nomination could just as easily be for Rockin Robbin continuing work on Linux and making it work for the Silent hunter series. Wizz seems to agree in post # 35 as well, although, in a different category.

To that end, BarracudaUAK has been very helpful as well in the short time he has been a part of Subsim.

Default I hereby nominite s7rikeback for Modder of the Year

  • The category you are nominating for: Mod/Modder of the Year
  • The name of the nominee (correctly spelled): s7rikeback
  • The contents of his post or thread in QUOTES: Quoting Rockin Robbins in http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...postcount=2440 - "The only difference is that it works now. Jeff-Groves set us on the right path, taught us a little history and S7rikeback executed the plan." There's another post in there somewhere that I have been trying to find for days, and I've given up for now. s7rikeback is standing on the shoulders of Jeff-Groves and Rockin Robbins, who stand on the shoulders of those who've gone before them, but s7rikeback has dug deeper than anyone before him. The simple things, including this: s7rikeback's FotRS U Bible
  • A link to the post or thread: WIP FOTRS Ultimate Project
  • Include your reason for the nomination, why you think it deserves an award: What s7rikeback has done, is clean-up the "Stock" version of Silent Hunter, in addition to the Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate Edition mod (besides all the other stuff he's done for the team and mod). The mod went from nearly 3 gig in size, to less than one gig. Who'd a-thunk there was that much junk in the game or in the mod? He took all the tga-based ships, both stock and imported, and has them using dds files. Much improved load time, better / faster / prettier play time... I'm really looking forward to us finishing this up and getting the "base" mod out there.

I also think we could have a "Mod Manager of the Year", sort of like what MLB does... and I nominate Rockin Robbins for that, based upon the same mod and thread with s7rikeback. In his case, a vision, combined with the perseverence and patience to see it through to completion. Lesser fellers would have and have crumbled under less adversity.

Thanks to all. This is the best site, and the best community on the internet, and reflects well on the managers and owners.

For Most Helpful Member of the Year:

jayni

For a cheerful and light-hearted attitude and thoughtfully providing fun topics.

The discussions have been very serious lately so I thought I would direct subsimmers to some funny nonpolitical humor.
Look up on You Tube Doyle and Debbie. They sing funny country songs. My favorites are: When You're Screwin Other Women Think of Me and The Snowbanks of Life.
I would use headphones if you are listening in the office or if you are around people who might be offended by risque songs.
I hope this will bring some levity to those who are worried about what the future holds in store and to those who are optimistic about the future but still want a laugh.

  • The category you are nominating for: The Funniest Post of the Year
  • The name of the nominee: onkel neal
  • The contents of his post: "Well, no, this is the General Topics, not sub game related forum. Like favorite puppies, where to vacation, who likes beer, insane political threads where your IQ will be sucked dry, and cat videos. That kind of thing. "
A link to the post or thread:http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=2448069#post2448069
  • Include your reason for the nomination: it's really funny. Explains General Topics-particularly political threads to a 'T'!

Come on everyone knows this is rigged ... there going to sign up millions of new members right before the votes are cast to sway it over to Aktungbby.

Just kidding, but it is going to be a tough decision. How about a thread where the nominees tell us why we should vote for them. All we have now is why someone selected them.
