You have spotted the deliberate design flaw. Thin and flimsy bags that do not last, sometimes not even to the car park, so that you have to keep buying new ones.

This is of course is not done for profit by the greedy supermarkets, but because it 'saves' resources by using less plastic, et cetera, and because the bags are probably made in some Chinaman's slave factory to cost the retailer less.

I blame the European Union for trying to stop the black market in carrier bag smuggling across the English border into Wales, where they already charge 5 pennies a bag. There is now a sophisticated crime network to move bags over the Severn Bridge past all the security checks or across the mountains sheep paths and into the valleys. A clever criminal can find all sorts of places in a car to hide the bags, and many women are known to have put a couple in their purses hoping to not get caught. I use Ebay because I can wrap items in multiple bags as 'padding' and then slip the package past the customs.

I certainly don't agree with the bag tax....there are already a great many depending on food banks and this measure would only add more to those ranks.

Why not re-name the party? The slut party comes to mind as Clegg seems to think coalitions are great and will jump into bed with any party now. Be it Con/Lab/Green/UKIP/BNP you name it and Clegg will go to bed with it.

Considering the huge numbers that now find themselves on NMW where does he suggest the shortfall in monies should come from?

Its a Peter and Paul issue at the moment, they are taking money off the gross income, then giving them benefits to make their net income back up again.

The Tory Government has announced that benefit cheats will now be dealt with as harshly as fraudulent bankers.

I'm not sure giving them Knighthoods is the right way to go.

Brillant..I had to put your post forward as the funnest post of the year nomination.

So the idea is a benefit cheat will expect a small fine or a short stay in a 3 Star prison with all the goodies under the sun, after all that is what these criminal bankers get.

Well to sum up people, Clegg wants another Hung Parliament and as long as the Lib Dems hold the number of MP's to swing it in favour of the Cons/Lab the talks are on. I advice true Liberals to breakaway from this sham and form a true Liberal Party that want to govern and not jump into bed with other party's.
