Default Reg Cleaners BAH !!!

I should have known better than to use one instead of doing it myself.

I've had GWX 3.0 and Commander on hdd since it was released and jsgme mod it. NEVER have had a problem in all this time.

I use a reg cleaner once after unistalling a game and GWX won't play now.
.dll missing error.

Da**it , S**t, to he!!

I never use registry cleaners, usually just format the whole thing.

Yes, mine too gives me something like this: E:\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Roster\Australian\ Submarine HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ins taller\Folders

But I deselect all of the SH3 that CC finds before cleaning. I also use the reg cleaner of tune up utilities. it never game a problem with the game!

I've never used a reg cleaner before and just let it run in default settings.

I didn't think it would screw with installed games.

Just thought it would get rid of any bits left behind from Uninstalled stuff.

It also broke all my DT online shortcuts.

I always use reg cleaner couldn't live without it CCleaner is pretty safe but less powerful. COMODO reg cleaner is CRAZY and very effective but it poses more risk than CCleaner

I have to agree with FIREWALL, tried Reg Cleaner a number of times and had to re-ghost afterward everytime!
The only one that was ever any good IMO, was Norton's Win Doctor.

Good thing you gave a heads-up, I use that one occasionally (and only that one; to be fair, it has never given me any trouble). To be honest though, I have so much HD space that I usually don't bother uninstalling stuff, so haven't used it in months.

Using CC myself, never no problem, but helping to delete hundreds and thousands of unneeded entries over long time. System collects entries not only when installing software, you know. Not occasionally cleaning the reigstry will sooner or later make a difference that is to be felt in booting times.

This is the best possible advice ,Always backup before you do anything ,even if its just creating a restore point before installing new drivers for something - you may never have to do it But the one time you dont do it will be the one time you really should have (I know this is all closing the door after the horse has bolted type of advice ,but hey that's what the interwebs is for).
