Default SH3 On Steam....

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone here has got the Steam version of SH3 and if so, will it work OK on Windows 7 without having to mod or change anything?
Also, is it possible to mod the Steam version the same as can be done with the disc copy?
I've not played this sim for a very long time and was considering buying off Steam rather than go to the trouble of hunting around for my DVD and going to all the trouble of patching it up so it will run.

Thanks guys.....

There maybe some issues-I use the one I got without starforce(DVD).

Several more topics on this if you use the search.

Personally I would try to find your DVD or buy it-not steam.

Howdy! Yes, I am running the Steam version of SH3 on Windows 7. Steam installed it and it wouldn't fire up right off the bat because the original game wanted my desktop to be a much smaller resolution. Installed one of the resolution fixes and then it fired right up.

Same here. I'm back after a long hiatus, too. Couldn't even find the disks, so I got it from Steam. No issues here. No major ones, anyway. Apparently I'm in the minority. I'm using GWX http://www.thegreywolves.com/ and Ahnenerbe WideGui 1920 x 1080 Final http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=215433. You're going to want JSGME, too.

Check out SH3 Commander to add + the cfg patch and you will not be disappointed.
