QUE: speed/distance charts?
Are there any pull-down speed/distance charts like in SH3 and SH5 anywhere? (The two tabs at the top left of the nav map).
I've done a search but can't find anything. |

You can use the nomograph on the right side of the map to resolve speed/time/distance. In the KiUB operators manual you will find speed resolution examples utilizing timing the ship crossing the periscope wire. Check out the support folders for the mod.

Thanks for your reply Wilcke.
The charts I mean are the ones that tell you how many kilometers a ship has travelled at a certain speed. That way you can work out where the ship is from a radio contact mark on the map (beyond periscope sight),so you can intercept it. I think that they have the kriegsmarine logo on them. They were in SH3 and later on in the Dark Wraith's UI mod in SH5. I have temporarily uninstalled both SH3 & 5 so I'm not sure who made the mod. |

Having a calculator at hand and knowing the math is really the best speed/distance calculator you'll ever want.
Cover or mentally remove the value you'll want to calculate from the triangle, and you'll have the equation ready to go. For SH4 it's best used with speed as knots, time as hours and distance as nautical miles. |
