Post your custom missions in this thread. You can upload them in the Subsim Downloads Cold Waters custom missions section (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=cat&id=106) and then link from your post here to your custom mission.

If you need access to upload your custom mission, just PM me.

Note, this applies to missions created by me, since there is no standard for creating the single##.txt files. I give the file that has the briefing a temp name of BRIEFING_single##.txt so the player can tell them apart.

Hunter...or Hunted? (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=5249)
Track and fight unknown Soviet hunter/killer group. What's out there? An Akula? A Tango? Charlie? You will need to be on top of your game to survive.

America's Last Stand (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=5254)

Setting: East Coast, USA
Briefing: CIA sources have just learned of a Soviet strike force sent to engage Coast Guard units and merchant shipping in New York harbor. You are the only sub in the ops area, America is counting on you to sink the enemy.
Strike force is of unknown strength and composition.

What if there is already a language_en folder with a mission folder in side that with single##.txt files in it?

Then you will want to change the number of the custom mission you are adding to the last number total.

Example:

Say you are adding a custom mission called Boomer Heaven, and currently your missions_single.txt has:

The Duel
In The Presence Of Wolves
Action In The North Atlantic
Iron Coffins
Beating The Odds
Skirmish In The Denmark Strait
The Bastion Gambit
The Narvik Caper
Strike From The Sea
Stalking The Red Bear
Hunter...or Hunted?
Channel Strike
America's Last Stand
To Be or Not To Be
Victors on the Loose

So, count them. Victors on the Loose is #15, right? So you will rename your new custom mission files single016.txt and place them in the proper folders.

Place the BRIEFING_singlexxx.txt file from the archive inside the folder named mission and then rename it single016.txt
...Cold Waters\ColdWaters_Data\StreamingAssets\override\la nguage_en\mission

Navigate two levels up to ..Cold Waters\ColdWaters_Data\StreamingAssets\override\ and place the file singlexxx.txt from the archive here. Rename it single016.txt

Be sure to add the name of the new file to the missions_single.txt so that is now appears as:

The Duel
In The Presence Of Wolves
Action In The North Atlantic
Iron Coffins
Beating The Odds
Skirmish In The Denmark Strait
The Bastion Gambit
The Narvik Caper
Strike From The Sea
Stalking The Red Bear
Hunter...or Hunted?
Channel Strike
America's Last Stand
To Be or Not To Be
Victors on the Loose
Boomer Heaven

Does that help?

Thank you for this post. I was contemplating this very idea as I'm just downloading various mods.

I have 10 single missions listed in the missions folder. But only 7-8 show up in the Single Mission list of choices. Does that mean that the last ones that I have are a part of one of the campaigns?

Am I missing their being listed in a file? The extras, currently reside with the first ones.

In other notes, because of my limited play time, I am happy getting more single missions. If someone knows were more sit, a link would be appreciated.

this structure is giving me the fits, why not place all customs missions once REL in a single pack, with a single mod file and it would be easier to install.

if any mission is updated we just replace the updated file in place?

thanks

Installed Last Stand tonight. Played for a couple of hours. Finding the first set of targets, usually three ships isn't a problem. Finding everyone else out there is proving more difficult.

Any tips on where to sail after the first encounter to find the rest of the guys playing hide & seek?

Thx.

Usually, a grouping has some general formation with capital and support ships in the middle or rear. Determine the heading of the first ship you encounter to get a gist of the overall group's heading. But, if you take out an escort...support ships will turn and run the other way.

Try and get a good view of the situation before being detected or launching.
