[TEC] How to convert DDS files for editing

For those who don't want to mess around with plug-ins, or complicated program settings, this tutorial is for you.

1. download easy to use freeware DDS Converter here:

http://www.filefront.com/3577988/DDS-Converter-2-1.0/

2. Upon opening DDS Converter tool, select file output format to .bmp or whatever. Now in the window at the left, click on the .dds file you need to convert.

3. Edit the converted .bmp file with Paintshop or whatever art program you are using.

4. Once you are finished editing the file, select file output format to .dds format. In the window at the left, click on the modified .bmp file you need to convert back into .dds format.

5. You are done! :arrgh!:

Paint dot net has native support for dds files. And its free.
Good for some basic editing, get 'em plugins too!

Here's some image tools that i've used in the past also:

Anyone know what settings we need to use when we save a dds for SH5 using the Nvidia dds plugin?
