25 October 1944
http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9731/thebattleofsurigaostraipp7.jpg
The United States 7th Fleet of Rear Admiral Jesse Oldendorf sets a deadly trap at the end of Surigao Strait for the Japanese Force C of Vice Admiral Shoji Nishimura, which is on a mission to attack the American landing forces in the Leyte Gulf.
The last naval battle fought only by capital ship takes place.
Notes:
- Semi-historic mission
- Surface battle at night
- Squadron speed 24 kn
- For the playable IJN Fuso by peabody
- Range fix by W4lt3r (or similar) required
DOWNLOAD: http://www.megaupload.com/de/?d=HVUJ3A57 (http://www.megaupload.com/de/?d=HVUJ3A57)
Installation: extract the rar into the single mission folder of SH4
Nown issues:
Sometimes one or two destroyers start a search pattern and it is likely that one is overrun by a capital ship
It’s very likely that one or two American battleships leave the formation to attack the Japanese battleships when sighted
No American PT boats or destroyers since they do not start torpedo attacks and their small turrets won’t damage the Japanese battleships
