View Full Version : Status Update: Atlantic Fleet Complete

Finally we have a build of the game ready for release. This last week of testing certainly paid off as there were some iOS8 problems along with a few game breaking bugs.

If no issues are found in the next few days, the plan is to submit Atlantic Fleet for review sometime later next week. Price will be USD $9.99 across all stores (iTunes, Google Play and Amazon).

The release version will contain 60 ship classes representing 631 individual warships, 354 individual submarines, 7 types of merchant ship as well as 13 playable aircraft types.

Great timing, I just finished Pacific Fleet with three stars on everything yesterday :yeah: PF is a lot of fun, but feels more like a tech demo for everything that could be really done with this as a strategy game - so I look forward immensely to what looks like a big leap forward with Atlantic Fleet :yep:

I guess you guys got really unlucky with the review process! The average is reported to be at 8 days right now, looks like Atlantic Fleet is taking them 3 times that. Well, at least their reviewers must be enjoying it :D

Actually the announcement that it was submitted for review was Owen of Pocket Tactics misunderstanding Paul when he said the game was feature complete and ready for release. We did eventually find a few bugs that we fixed and the game was submitted on the 6th, so it's been about 9 days. It'll be released within a couple of hours today.

We've had a major crash bug affecting iPhones which we've been working 24/7 to fix so that is why you haven't seen it on iTunes lately. Needless to say this has also delayed the Android release since there's only two of us.

For what it's worth, the 1.01 update turned out to work fine and it's now back on the appstore.

Yes, it seems this version is very unstable compared to the preceding ones. We'll fix it though.

Yay! Game is out! Been playing it a couple hours yesterday. It's quite a bit harder than pacific fleet. Not a bad thing IMO. The gloomy weather did make me long for the pacific tho.

I do not like the retreating mechanic much. While it makes sense for a damaged shop to pop smoke and gtfo it gets on my goat that they suddenly are wtfhard to hit and pop out of existence after a couple of turns.

What I'd like is that there be a couple more rules to this. A distance check. Need to get the damaged ship out of range before popping out of existence. A speed check. The fleeing ship needs to be able to outrun it's pursuers in its current state or it stays in the game. Lastly there needs to be a let em go button to stop protracted chases.

Anyway cheers on a great game guys! Having a ball with it (despite a certain big Polish PC game)

Does anyone know how to zoom in on ships in sea view, it says the pinch method but I can't zoom in when I want to.

Tap on a ship to focus the camera on it.
Pinch the screens with two fingers to zoom in/out.

If this doesn't work, what device and OS are you using?

Nice job Guys but I do have a couple questions. Is there no fine tune to turning or aiming like in pacific fleet. Can/will it be added if I'm just not seeing it. Maybe an option to see how far you will turn so you don't over/under shoot.

Also were hedgehogs historically fixed. Not being able to adjust them means I often go from a bit too far away to then passing the sub on the next turn.

That trailer is very reminiscent of Enigma: Rising Tide. I hope this comes to the PC platform sooner rather than later.

We felt that fine tune wasn't necessary due to the spread of salvos now. In Pacific Fleet salvos has 1 shell/turret so it was crucial to land them exactly. In Atlantic Fleet all shells are fired making a close salvo still landing 2-3 hits.

Pretty sure Hedgehog's range was fixed historically, although they could swivel to the left and right a little (which we haven't modeled).
