I have bought TvT a litte less than 2 months ago. Didn't give it much time since busy at work. Now that I have a new system, I have installed the game on Vista 32 bits platform. It works and no crash so far.
But as luck could have it, I happened to have watched on Youtube, Steel Fury and find it is quite detailed so much so that it simulates field soldiers as well! Are those soldiers just part of the intro movie or they are really in-game AI bolts? Should I get Steel Fury as well, is it hard core? My budget is quite opened. |

Welcome aboard, Peter.
Your questions: 1. The soldiers are not only in the intro, but in the game as well, but do not expect them to be of uber-AI. 2. SF certainly is the better choice over TvT, I think most would agree on this now. But be advised that the publisher of both sims, Lighthouse, has gone bancrupt. Which means - no further support for their products from them. Mods try to make something of both things, but so far I have seen sims being much more active in modding. Do not expect wonders. Take wonders, if they ever come true, as an unexpected gift. But somebody here posted about a random mission generator he has developed and is testing. Such a thing usually comes highly welcomed by any community. ![]() 3. Whether or not SF is, as you put it, a "hardcore" sim, has been object of bitter and angry debate in the past. Some say yes, I say no, but I also say it is a solid game if not trying to see it beyond it's limited scale. If you want "hardcore" tanking, there is no alternative to SBP.

Thanks! I am not hardcore tank simmers. Glad that there is a differentiation between both. Sad to know Lighthouse has gone, I have many of its adventure games actually.
Anyone play both sims online? I searched online for TvT, but no players there! |

Your best chance to ask for online gamers for TvT or SF is the lighthouse forum - if they are still there. Attempts to form a subsim virtual squad seem to have died down 3 months ago. If somebody knows it better, let me know!

I'd like to download the demo (if there is one) and try out the game.
...does anyone know where I can find a download link? Also: I have not seen this game in ANY computer / electronics store (i.e. Gamestop, Best Buy, etc). Is it only available on the web? Easy_Eight65

Have been away the past days, sorry for the late reply.
Just want to point out that you can arrange SBP to not use the modern techno-gimmicks like laser-range-finders, thermal imagers, stabilisation etc, and do it with WWII-like secondary optics and manual range finding, very much giving you the experience of fighting the way our grandfathers did. That way it blasts big holes into WWII-titles while avoiding to give you the high fidelity electronics of the present. you use weaker ammo, and some of the less heavily armoured tanks. The engine power however still sets it apart from WWII. http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/...ad.php?t=13198
