I saw it once at a friends'. Not sure if it is the demo or full version but it felt clunky, excessively small scale and tedious. A bit like the T34-Tiger demo did.
I opted not to get either. |

well, the thinkg I find about tanksims is that I want the tediousness, why have an uncomplicated tanksim? crap, just to get the T-34 rolling at all in T-72 you have to start the engine, shift into first, rev up the engine, release the brake and push the stick (i use a joystick) forward and off you go. if they did it I wanna do it too

Yes all that sort of stuff is fun, and I love it in a well designed game...
But I never got that impression from any of the T72 BoF/ T72 IW/ T34-Tiger. Judging by the discussions in the now-changed-purpose T34-Tiger forums, the odd and clunky interface and design went deep into the program's inner workings. This seems to prevent any simple addition of new terrains, missions etc, which kind of limits the experience to one of tedium, trying to 'beat' the current mission so you can progress through your 'campaign'. And this isn't just a sense of ennui about the T72 as a vehicle... I actually find it fascinating, and think it is highly effective and dangerous (to the enemy, not just to ones self - just to head anyone off). I'll do a dance for joy when it finally gets a decent representation as a playable vehicle in a playable modern simulation.. even if it does have a some loss of fiddly gadgety stuff. |

T72 is on the to-do-list for SBP - since aeons. There it's model and statistics already are included, but it is AI-controlled only and not playable.
I assume best chance for T72-lovers is SB2 - date unknown (if it ever gets produced: I am still not convinced of that). I am almost certain that a playable SBP-T72 will at least not come this year. When the imminent upgrade is released this March, eSim said they are locked in other contract duties for the rest of this year as if they could touch the PE version again this year. Me personally can't understand why people are so crazy for a T72. But everybody to his own. ![]() ![]()
