Zoom of the Periscope?
Is it correct, that both, the observation and the attack periscope zooms 1x or 4x?
I always thought that the obersavtion periscope can zoom 1x and 4x but the attack periscope 1,5x and 6x? It's hard to get the range of a target at long distances just seeing it 4 times bigger than normally. |

There is a magnification of the scope mod in the SH4 mod forums. I know it worked for 1.4 but may not be ready for 1.5. Search the mod forum for it.

There were lots of periscope models for UBoats in WW2, however, all attack periscopes I have seen were 1.5x/6x.
For late war observation periscopes, the correct zoom would also be 1.5x/6x. Fortunately, this is easy enough to fix in the cameras.dat file.:hmm: Here is a pic of a real german observation periscope manual, indicating clearly the 1.5x/6x for this late war model (Binocular type):

Nice one there, Hitman! Is that yours?
1.5x and 6x magnification is valid for both periscopes on the German and American submarines.
