Default Mod Help sh4 V1.5 Hamilton Navy Chrono & Better Scopes 1.3

I would like to install Hamilton Navy Chrono & Better Scopes 1.3 for SH4 upgraded to 1.5. Any help installing these would be most appreciated.

Hi Ned, welcome aboard! Are those mods installed with JSGME? If so, do you have a copy of it?

It really helps to post questions like this in the mods forum.

If you clock mod does not change the shape of the clock, all you need to do is replace the Clock.dds file in Data\Menu\Skins\American\Gui.

If either mod contains a menu_1024_768.ini file then this file will need to be edited. Since this file controls practically everything on screen, many mods have their own version. You have to edit that file instead of the stock one, or you might get errors or a CTD.

I run RFB and I like to have a smaller clock on screen. So every time the RFB team alters that file for a new feature, I have to edit it to have a smaller clock.

Thanks all for the quick response.

Nisgeis, thanks for the welcome, if it's not obvious already I'm rather green. I have JSGME and have installed several mods that do not require editing the menu_1024_768.ini file. The Hamilton Navy Chrono mod's read me file refer to code sections G29 18 & G29 19, which now appear to be G29 12 & G29 13, with the end result of having the hands in the wrong place with the smaller hands missing.

To LukeFF, your right and thanks for cutting me a little slack. Will do better next time.

ancient46, I used JSGME to place the DDS as you stated and the chrono file Data\Menu\Gui. The amendments to the ini file do not appear to work.
All this makes me shy of trying the Better scopes mod.

Ok, I've installed the betterscopes 1.3 mod, just a case of updating the file path and typing in the amendments as instructed in the ReadMe file to the Menu ini file . Now I just need help with the clock as the amendments to the ini file do not seem to work in this case, see below ;

The change log is as follows;
Modify the menu_1024_768.ini file:

Do you have a link to the Hamilton Navy Chrono mod? I'll look at it and see what it needs.

If not, this is what the changes are for the other mini chrono mod

Longam, Cheers for your efforts. I applied your changes and yes the clock is smaller but still the hands on the clock are all over the place. Here's the link you requested. The mod was geared for v1.2 I think;

Happy Hunting and once again thanks for your help

Ned

Fixed it for the most part. Still have a wobble on the small second hand.

Have more to tweak on it as yet.

Edit: I have the wrong dial hands too. Back to the drawing board.....

Well I have it corrected now with v1.5 hands, so this will be a revision and a conversion. 1.5 changes the way the chrono works.

Download
http://www.longam.net/downbelow/sh4_v15.htm

Better Scopes for v1.5 tested with this mod. Also available at the same location.

All versions of the Hamilton Chrono included in one package.

I guess I'll post a release of it.
