Default Any opinions about the trumpeter Liberty Ship model?

Hey

I'm thinking about getting a Trumpeter 1/700 Jeremiah O'Brien scale model

It's small, have place for it in my room, and it requires less paint
And it's also cheap at about 17 USD here converted

Has anyone built it here?
Is it good?
There are good reviews of it actually but I wanted to ask YOU guys

Damn i really fell in love with the ugly duckling

There are Subsim members who have been aboard her.

Good luck in your build progress.
Hope you will post picture of your progress as you proceed with the build.

Tried to find the wooden model of this kit-I know there is, because I seen a build thread where someone build it.

There's also a bigger model of her in scale 1:350.

Secondly this is only a proposal.

Post your build thread in our

https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/forumdisplay.php?f=186

Thread.

I'll start looking how can i get my hand on one
It's out of stock everywhere in my country but I asked a big webstore

I don't have much experience with scale models, especially with painting sooo
Hope it turns out good
If it doesn't, it's not that expensive after all and everyone has to start somewhere.

Considering it's small, cheap, relatively simple, I think this one is good for a starter

Edit: They just answered my email at HALF PAST 8 what
That is some good customer service
They say they can get it for me
So payday's coming, let's order it hehe

It seems that there are at least two: one in 1:700 scale and the other larger one in 1:350

1:700

1:350

It looks like a really cool model in either scale to me, shipmate

We do have a modeling forum here. Perhaps those who lurk there can pass on some advice.

Yes, the 1:350 would have been huge for my room. It's really too small with literally no place to display it
So the 1:700 would fit better on my desk or on the top of my pc (on the desk lol)

Any advice is welcome
Especially painting decks and small parts
Or just painting in general
I'm scared about that lol

Especiall decks and small parts to paint
Just make sure you get lots of red and yellow paint to get the details right! & a good San Francisco fireboat model for that authentic scenario effect! and don't forget the bow gun (small parts) decals! po<Hull in Ocean Gray 5-0;upper masts, yards, slender upper works and superstructure masses in Haze Gray5-H https://www.firerescue1.com/fire-att...b86gCiMUTrPHh/

How about I set my room on fire just for ultra realism huh? 9000iq

It's gonna be more than a week before it arrives so plenty of time to research about modeling and hype up (and then mess it up lol)

Edit: Actually looking at some other sites, that decal is also included hihi

Another recommendation is youtube.

I'll bet there are lots of video clip with people building this Liberty Ship in 1/700 scale.

Watch some of them and take notice.

In my first comment in this thread I wrote

"Tried to find the wooden model of this kit-I know there is, because I seen a build thread where someone build it"

I found it.

The model kit can be found on deans marine's homepage.
Name of this huge model kit is Hudson Gate.

The hull is made of Plastic
