Default Please help - Acoustic Guided Torpedo Mod

So I've looked everywhere but I simply can't find it. Where do you edit the guidance of say the IX torpedo?

I mean how "strong" the homing is, as if I were to shoot way off it would still hit, and also hit very slow moving targets, the limit now is 10 or so it says.

Help would be SERIOUSLY appreciated. Thanks a ton.

Bump.

Someone? If it's not possible can you at least tell me?

I've tried to look with SH3 mini tweaker with the Torpedo.sim/zone files but they speak nothing of the acoustic guiding, I also attempted to search in the data folder for words such as acoustic and the torpedo name but it turns out nothing useful.

The homing system, I believe is buried in the hex files. What you can do easily is go to the .cfg file, or better, the mini-tweaker file for that, and edit it's range, turn radius, speed, etc. Changing a few settings turns the Zaunkoenig into a shark, hehe.

Either that or certain elements may be hard coded which means without the SDK you won't be able to do much more with them.

I haven't actually looked but I believe the former may be the case.

The stuff that controls how far the torp seeks is hard coded some where.
You can change a lot of things but you can't make it lock on a
target 75 miles away.

Default Make available before 43

Is there a way to mod any file making Zaunkoenig available earlier than 1943 ?

Go to your basic.cfg file. Look for this (or something like it):

[TORPEDO_TYPE6];T V (G7es) – Zaunkönig I
Idx=6
Year=1943
Month=10
PrototypeYear=1943
PrototypeMonth=1
Renown=0

Fix the year and month to what you want.

Good luck!
