New Book Review: Playing With the Enemy

Born and raised in the Depression-era small town of Sesser, Illinois, Gene Moore knows one thing for certain: he was born to play baseball. When WWII breaks out, the Brooklyn Dodgers arrange for Gene to play exhibition baseball in the Navy.

Far from Gene’s world of line drives and fly balls, a US naval task force relentlessly hunts a German U-boat in the Atlantic. Thanks Neal! We are so glad that you liked Playing with the Enemy. I enjoyed reading your review, and also that you didn't give too much away for readers. Some things are better left to be discovered as you are turning the actual pages. We are counting the days until the September 15 release!

My pleasure, Sarah. After reading the sample pages on the Savas-Beatie website, I was looking forward to reading Playing With The Enemy. It exceeded my expectations, a great book. People are going to be so surprised when they pick this up.

Subsim readers, I checked the official website, they have a special offer:
To reserve a signed, 1st edition copy of Playing With The Enemy: A Baseball Prodigy, a World at War and a Field of Broken Dreams, with no obligation to purchase, please send an email with your name and contact info to sales@playingwiththeenemy.com and we will put you on the list and notify you when available.

I can recommend this book, I think you will enjoy it.
