Once.

And by once, we mean that he'll forget to take the cap off before firing.

Much worse! He was ordered to man the deck gun and he went to the flak gun.

Hee.

The downside is, you no longer have a working deck gun.

The upside is, you no longer have Bernard on your boat. Well, not in one piece anyway.

He must have had a Chop-Chop fruit or something, because he reassembled after that last shell hit.

Harbormaster: Kaleun, I don't remember your boat having a conning tower emblem painted on.

Kaleun: Oh that's just Bernard.

Default Bernard in action

Against all odds , Bernard performs his duties in an excellent way. He is not destroying anything else , but the target ship.

He is the one in the blue uniform and - amazing - the deck gun is still in one piece.

Before he went out I said to him :
Bernard , if you screw this one up your next station is inside torpedo tube 1.
We have a lack of live torps.

I think it worked, This time

Did he transfer onto your boat? Even after 30 patrols I have doubts as to whether he will have earned his u-boat badge granted his taken an enormous step on his latest patrol.

This Bernard is one of a kind.
After being threatened to be used as TI torpedo he is a different man.

Yes , he is the same one who got confused the deck gun with the flak gun.

The German Cross was awarded to him because he sunk a passenger/cargo with a single shot (I couldn't believe it but it is true)
Now he is the Bootsmann responsible for the deck gun and he is doing fine.
Of course the threat is still active!
