Request for SH1 screenshots

It's been many, many years since I last played SH1.

I'd really like to refresh my memory and how everything looked (in those days, it was top graphics, nowadays in the time of SH3, we can only look in disbelief ).

I thank you. I still have some scenes infront my eyes (mostly the command bridge), but those are mixing up with SH3.

THX you very much for your efford!

Memories....
Light the corners of my mind
Misty, watercolor memories
Of the way we simmed...

THX! I never saw some of them. Brought a tear in my eye.

I wish I hadn't lost my SH1 CD. I had a lot of OLD games like Dark Colony, Road Rash and others (not too many) and one day they were just gone, nowhere to be found.

I sometimes really miss the old day. I could play games forever, when when I dyed ever 5 seconds. They had charm and warmth no longer found in modern games.

This is writen in a state of nostalgia.

Does anyone have more screenshots, maybe active ones?

I remember you could have a fire in SH1 (not detected in SH3) and they you had to put it out. The funny thing was that you could have flooding and fire at the same time

And when you have flooding in the battery room, you had a warning for acid gases comming from the broken and flooded batteries and you had to surface!

Ah the good old days, hopefully Ubisoft had a long chat with old SSI guys

Alittle OT, but does anyone agree with me that the 3D graphics have killed the 'feeling' from games??

Let´s take the old Indiana Jones adventure games for example. They were all hand drawn. Few years back, they made a new Indiana Jones with 3D graphics. It looked horrible! Every game reminds of another nowadays, back in the 2D times every game looked totally different from another.

The day a 3d blue square box replaced a lovely had drawn picture of a blue locker was a sad day as all the art was taken away from the locker, but as technology advances I think 3d graphics are becoming far more personal and artistic than the plain boxes and effects 3d grew out of.
Back in the early days of 3d games could not express them selves because 3d was not artistically flexible in the way 2d was, but as technology improves 3d starts to become just another medium for games.
It is true that however beautiful 3d is, it often lacks the endearing simplicity that 2d graphics have. However, this does not mean it lacks the art and beauty or personality that modern technology has allowed its creators to express.

Also true!

The questions is how to find balance. SH4 3D interiour looks nice, maybe we've come to a point where 2D and 3D colide into something beautifull

But some games have a nice 3D look from far away, but at close up it's looks like hell. Other games are just the opposite. Perfection is a hard goal to acheave!
