We have our first baseball game tomorrow at 4:30 PM Central Time.
I'm pretty sure I will being playing either right or center field.
I'm nervous/excited.
I'm praying I don't forget anything important.

Our coach explained our games to us, he said that there are two teams on our one team, there are 24+ kids on our team so he split them evenly. We have an A team, and we have a B team. He called off the names of the people that need to come to the game tomorrow in their gear and everything, and I am one of them. The rest of the team has to come, but they cheer us on or shag foul balls for us.

Its gonna be 90 tomorrow with 63% humidity, how fun.

Well, now that our older prayerful attitude has rubbed off on a youngster like you...in your case, DO pray to Thor...and name your bat "Mjölnir" sort of like Robert Redford in The Natural swingin' his lightning-created bat, Wonder Boy! Baseball is played in the mind: attitude lad! attitude! Never mind the weather...let their pitcher know: you're bringin' the heat BBY

Napa's completely socked in due to smoke; 0930 AM looks like 8PM, an orange-grey 'twilight of the gods' effect. I presume the sun is shining-last night a baleful red eye was at least visible; this morning....not even that much. Old movies and AC are the agenda...'till PG &E, CA's criminal utility, cuts off the power in a proactive blackout as they did over in Santa Rosa/SONOMA County all night long where my daughter resides. Additionally, 5,000 customers in north Napa county are w/o power...thus far, due to windy conditions affecting old power-lines. Fortunately the temps will be around 85F. down from 109-104 F. yesterday...hey!: "We be chillin' in the hood bro!" and I don't have to mow the ash-laden lawn! EDIT: The dystopian effect of the orange sky looks like the set of Blade Runner II and is expected to last 'till Sunday. Economy of forces: I now wear the mask for smoke... and Covid virus!

Just completed my certification for Project Management Professional (PMP)

Crikey, what a difficult test. You have four hours to complete it. I did not need anywhere near that much time as I was able to finish it in three hours fifty-seven minutes.

But I passed and it seems that I passed by a pretty good margin.

Now I am just waiting for that HUGE pay raise that I am sure is coming soon. Yup. soon.... any day now.

And the women. Yikes, who knew that chicks dig guys with PMPs.... clearly not the women

Anyway, glad it is done and I never want to take that test again.

This morning, while taking our boy to college, we saw a man with what looked like a small cat on a lead. As we passed we could see it was actually a tiny dog: "Why the hell didn't he just get a guinea pig?" I asked.

Moira said that with the need for fresh food every day, a constant supply of hay and dry food, plus vet's bills (for the cysts and mites) it would probably be more expensive than a dog... I thought about my mother-in-law's mutts and said that at least it wouldn't bark

^True, and guinea pigs are delicious:

1 whole guinea pig
1 fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons ground Garlic
200 g Cornmeal
3 cups Vegetable Oil
1 garlic cloves
1/2 red onion
2 tablespoons ground Ají Panca
2 teaspoons fresh oregano leaves
1/2 sweet potatoes
12 Cocktail Potatoes
1 cup vegetable broth
2 tablespoons roasted Peanuts
Salt

Wash the guinea pig with plenty of water, dry it carefully with absorbent paper, and let it sit at room temperature for approximately two hours. Then cut it into four sections and season them with lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt.
Cover the guinea pig sections with cornmeal, then heat the 3 cups of vegetable oil in a pan and fry them on both sides for about 7 minutes, or until they’re crispy.

Heat the remaining oil in a pot over a medium heat and brown the minced garlic and onion for about four minutes. Then add the aji panca and let it cook for another five minutes.

Now, add a teaspoon of oregano, the sweet potato slices, and the cocktail potatoes. Then season it with a little salt and pour in the vegetable broth. Let it all cook for about 10 minutes or until the sweet potatoes and cocktail potatoes are cooked.

Finally, add the remaining oregano and peanuts, remove it from the heat, and serve it alongside the fried guinea pig pieces.

Those small dogs are "glorified wharf rats". Some call it "Trethupe" here, ~ kick-horn (?)
