EU countries are to continue following their own rules on which age groups should receive the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, after the EU’s medicines agency EMA recommended it should be given to all ages. The agency said very rare blood clots should be listed as a possible side effect. Belgium will now limit the vaccine to people over 55, while Spain and Italy will give the drug only to over 60s. France limits the drug to over 55s and Germany to over 60s.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel wants to change the law to harmonise Covid lockdown measures across the country and not only state by state, according to Bild newspaper. She’s been frustrated by some states’ refusal to tighten rules while infections remain high. In the past 24 hours there have been 20,407 new infections and 306 deaths.

Three students at Kirschgarten High School in the Swiss city of Basel have landed their entire class in quarantine by faking positive tests to avoid school, Blick newspaper reports. They falsified text messages from the Swiss contact tracing app, which meant 25 classmates and some teachers had to self-isolate.

A German mayor who got vaccinated before his turn has been suspended from his job in the eastern city of Halle. Bernd Wiegand refused to resign, insisting the dose had been left over and would have just gone to waste.

Prague hospital head Petr Arenberger has been appointed as the fourth Czech health minister since the start of the pandemic. He replaces Jan Blatny who has been repeatedly criticised by President Milos Zeman for refusing to back Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine.

Norway’s prime minister, Erna Solberg, says Covid restrictions will be relaxed in four stages that are each three weeks apart. Norway has managed to limit infections to about 100,000 cases and the government will decide when it can start loosening measures imposed on 25 March.

There have been a further 53 coronavirus related deaths in the UK, according to government daily statistics.

It takes the total number of deaths within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test to 126,980.

There were also 3,030 new infections recorded.

I seriously think it was an unfortunate decision to negotiate collectively for the bloc. Each country should not have held back and forged ahead with their own vaccine ordering.

Slovakian contollers say charges of the Russian vaccine delivered to Slovakia are not identical with the agent named Sputnik V that had been handed in for trials and licensing to the EU and EMA, but is another vaccine of unknown composition.

No matter how good something might be - it seems its always just a question of time until somebody comes along and ruins it for stupid reasons.

The whole decision to turn the old EEC into what the EU today is and wants to become in the near future, was "unfortunate".

The vaccine buying was also nothing the eu originalyl was aughtporiozed for. Merkel and von der Leyen and Macron wanted to use the opportunity to install more power to the block. As a reuslt from that, the eocnomc costs are many billiosn higher now than they might have needed to be, hundreds of thousands of people more than necessary got and will get ill, and tens of thousands have died and must die who could still live. But for the block and the glory of the EU, no sacrifice is too big as if we would dare not enjoying to bring it!

Well it was the members of the EU that gave this order to negotiate for them all, believing that a better deal could have been made that way – and most probably it was, by price and number of doses. You do not really believe that e.g. Astra-Zeneca would have distributed more doses to 27 single nations, and evenly?
Something like the EU or the Hanse back then was not "socialism", but a means to have a better negotiating position.

Because seriously what i think is that a chaos would have been initiated by every country trying to bribe and outmanouever and outperform and outpay its neighbour by own nationalist efforts, and a lot more people especially in the not-so-well-off countries would have died. Of course such thinking would be completely strange for a class society and the likes of Rees-Mogg.

Johnson was lucky that first "he" (lol) immediately got a lot of doses of the BionTech vaccine, second that Astra Zeneca was able to invent and then produce its vaccine in european plants and then send it almost all to the UK, and third that he was lucky gambling with the health of the people of the UK before a general clearance was declared. I admit that it is a good vaccine, but at that time a gamble it was.

It could have worked in the E.U. just as it has in the U.S. Here, each state is sole authority for the administration of the vaccine. However, Under Emergency Use Authorization only the Federal Government can negotiate and purchase the vaccine(s). We now have over 174 million people that have received first dose and we're cranking out 3,035,473 vaccinations a day and that number keeps growing everyday.

Its worked here. Why it hasn't in the E.U. is because their appointed leader von der whatesherface doesn't have a clue what she's doing.

I have read more on it over the past months, too. I have stopped thinking of it in terms of linkings and hints, and started to think of it in terms of evidence and causality already long time ago. The modern research on it came into heavy rolling already in the early 70s in the person of the grey eminence of Vitamine D research, Michael Hollick. Since the first SARS pandemic 2003, our knowledge about Vitamine C has seen a quantum leap forward. Modenr medicine knows no artifical drug that comes even close to the many hundreds and many hundreds of causal itneraction links of this hormone with switches and links of the human body and metabolism. I do not say it prpotects you against an infection, but it strengthens the immune system and at the same time modulates it to form less highly inflammatory zytokines and instea use more less inflammatory zytokines - a big stor yin Covid-19 infections.

The Medical School of Harvard University sine over one and a half decade lists Vitamine D supplementation - and Multi-Vitamines and - Minerals - in potent doses as indespensable for a healthy daily nutreiotiion, referring to the

1. bad eating behaviour habits of modern work life,

2. the lousy garbage-level nutrition value and many intoxications of highly processed industrial food and convenience food (of which I have started to think as slow killers),

and 3. the fact that over the past 100 years fruits and begetables due to the erposion of agricultural soils and the destruction of the microbiomes in them form chemical agents and fertilizers have lost in ske nutrient categories and geograpohical regions up to 90% (!!!) of nutrition values since WW1. The erosion process goes on, even pour "BIO" labelled foods and harvests get worse and worse.

(We are too damn many. ) We cannot farm sufficient ammounts of quality food for so many hungr ymouths as there are today, it simply is not possible. We need monocultures of biblical siozes, and this pays off badly for the quality, and it destroys and kills the fertile soil.

If your doctor does not know this or denies this, change your doctor, he illustrates by his lacking understanding that he does not care sufficiently to keep up tp date with modern research which goes forward all the time. A doctor owes it to his patient to try his best in this regard, and to reflect on what his patients bring up newly, but his day has just 24 hours, too. Because it is the patient paying the price for his competence or incompetence - with his health and well-being. Don'T be rude, listen tzo what he has to say, but if he has no damn good reaosns and can illustrate them to you, silently say Sayonara and look for a better one.

An excurse on my argument above that the quality of our food gets destroyed: sees diversity gets reduced, too, and that holds great risks, ecologically, econjomically, and health wise (f.e. ATI sensitivity).

Tja tja. Tell that loud in public, and see what a mess that brings you into... You immediately have to justify yourself for "racism".

My limited understanding is that she has excelled in political failure most if not all of her career.
