After communicating with them back and forth they finally included a fix for my issue that only some others seemed to have shared, that one and the same skin got used by several aI cars. All cars individually skinned again now - looks nice again!

Last night I did a ten laps race at Bahrein, six car types, 22 cars. Very good mod track, btw, solid work, AI handles it okay, and trackside cameras. One of the best racing experiences I have ever had on PC so far, ten laps of constant give-and-take, a 20 minutes long dogfight with a stubborn M3GT2 and a pesky 458GT2 (me in an Evora GX), notoriously changing positions between the three of us, with three others ahead and 16 more behind us, all the time driving at 18:00 with the sunset over the flat desert place. The other two were faster than me, but the Evora is more agile and did better in breaking, it reminded me a bit of dogfighting between two Bf109 and one Spitfire. Was an open call all the time, until last lap. I ended in fourth place. That experience stood out a bit ! Very nice.

It definitely is a round and solid package now, I'd say.

Don't know what they did, I sent them logs, files, and screenshots, and since the last updater this night, the 110MB one, the issue is gone. They said earlier the day that it should be fixed in one of the coming updates, and it was.

There is a thread by me here:
http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/in...roneous.11033/ (login required).

Beside the Shelby Cobra, the Corvette C6R probably was/is the most complete and best car mod out so far (or so they say at least, to me at least it feels like professional Kunos quality). URD now has released a hotfix that deals with the sound issue of their cars being silent after AC implemented its new sound engine. Download the pack, and add it itno the Corvette folder. However, the Corvette folder must be manually renamed to "urd_egt_corvette" to let the fix come into effect, else the car remains to be soundless.

Already with this provisional work-around, the car sounds awesome already, like a hungry beast from the wilderness.

More Corvettes will come from Kunos themselves, I think two cars were licensed.

Stabiz' lastest work. He surely knows how to cut and edit a video.

The LaFerrari is a fast mover for sure, but for my taste it bites you too easily, and I am surprised at the very light-feeling steering. I miss a more direct, linear feedback from the track, via the steering, I feel disconnected in the LaFerrari. Also, weight-transfer and breaking become a whole new art in this monster.

Surprisingly difficult to drive it fast. When going slower, feels not like driving but like soaring high in the sky. Impressive car, difficult car, impressive virtual representation and simulation. Kunos probably outmatched themselves with this one.

There is a hybrid car announced in one of the coming download packs. I wonder how that will feel (and sound ).

Validating cache did the trick on the update, seems ok now.

Just a few laps of Silverstone tonight in the 458, and then, just for a laugh, about half-a-mile of Trento-Bondone in the Cobra.

I've hit the side less in a game of pinball.

They've really optimised since I last played it, on track solo and most things high I get 150 fps, drop the settings and add a dozen cars and it's anywhere between 15 - 50 fps. Mostly adequate. I'll look at updating nvidia drivers soon, not been done for a while.

Kunos officially recommends to leave driver settings to off or app-controlled, and use only the ingame options. Especially regarding AA and AF.

Trento is not for every car. You probably have already figured it.

I do not look at a frame counter. I have at full car fields on the Kunos defualt tracks no lags, no stuttering, everything smooth and fluent, no matter how high the angle speed is with which I change viewing direction. That is what counts. The rest is fetishism.

---

Donington and especially Salzburg for me tonight. Both tracks are recommended, but especially Salzburg is a secret tip and a blast to drive. One of my absolutly favourite tracks: nice flow, wonderful visual representation (and no horizon, due to the location). Not many tracks for AC look as convincing as this one. The Kunos thread on it holds three additional cameras, posting #143, or one or two numbers earlier or later.

Default Ferrari Lap Times at the Nordschleife.

I did a few laps on Snoopy's version of the Nordschleife in four Ferrari cars, the 458 GT2, 599XX Evo, LaFerrari, and the 458 Stage 3.

The Ferrari 458 GT2 did it in 7:48.3

The Ferrari 599XX Evo did it in 7:51.1.

Ferrari La Ferrari did it in 7:58.2 which is down at least 2 minutes and 10 seconds from my first attempt.

And the Ferrari 458 Stage 3 did it in 9:43.4.

http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/in...2-stable.1018/

In case drivers did not take note of this app and are annoyed by the big size of the default apps. I use this, and prefer it to any other app design out there.

The combo most practical is "Statsbar" and "Gear". The other two of the four listed apps are not really needed.

Version of AC now is listed 1.04RC in the menu, but de facto already is 1.05RC.

Since I think the info never has been posted here in complete and compact form, jst some details scattered across various postings, here is the official content list for the first DLC, labelled the "dream pack": the official, laserscanned Nordschleife, and the ten most voted-for cars:

Nurburgring Nordschleife
+
Sauber Mercedes C9
Corvette C7R GTE
Nissan GTR GT3
Alfa Romeo 4C
Alfa Romeo GTA
Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI
McLaren P1
McLaren F1 GTR
Ruf RT 35 S
Mercedes 190 E 2.6-16 Evolution 2

Early subscribers were said earlier this year to get a -50% bonus on the final price. Release date not known so far. I estimate late 1Q.

And this will be the so far announced free post-release DLC:

Zandvoort
Monza 1962 (I understand this is the version with the steep wall turn)
+
Ruf Yellowbird
Nissan GTR
Corvette stingray C7
Silverstone historical 60s
Abarth 595ss vintage
Abarth 500 Assetto Corse (race car)
Toyota GT86
Alfa Romeo Mito Quadrifoglio Verde
Scuderia Glickenhaus P4/5
Audi R8 Plus (2014)
Audi S1 Quattro
Lotus Exige R-Cup
Scuderia Glickenhaus P4/5 Competizione
2012 Hybrid

I wonder what has become of the historic Spa circuit that was rumoured and talked about early this year.

Default A few from a quick race.

At the start line.

Heading towards the start of the Mulsanne Straight.

And then this happened.

By the time I had saved myself from wrecking a third time I was in 8th place (out of 12).

Turing off the main road at Mulsanne.

Having gained back some places (I got back into 4th), here I am with the rest of the pack entering into the Porsche Curves.

At the Ford Chicane.

By the time the race finished I ended up in 3rd place.

Less than one hour ago, Kunos has formally revealed they have a licensing deal with FORD.
