Default Hiya

Hi to all other skippers.

May I thank all those involved in the development of this mod. Amazing work and a great spin on the game.

One question...

Is there anywhere we can get more British subs. Looking at the British subs of WWII book there are some interesting boats!

Also is there a way of changing their load out? (I know not strictly historical) are there any torpedo loadout mods?

Chris

You're welcome, TorpexXIII

A while ago dyshman (post #103) said he was working in some early British subs (Odin, Parthian and Rainbow classes). Haven't heard/read from him since. If he finishes the project, they can be easily added to the campaign.

Then Keltos was working in a new T-Class boat based in an amazing 3D model by JU88. I think he is quite busy for the moment with other stuff.

So, by now, I'm afraid all that there is for the British subs is WDAD and the Med Campaign.

What do you mean by Torpedo loadout mods?. Extra torpedoes? Different ones? For the moment, the only planned change to the British torpedoes is eliminating the gyroangle.

Default Torps

Yeah just a the option (or Mod) so that you can change torps. Whatever the other mods (ie WDAD or RFB etc..) so that you can load up german torps / american or modern...

I don't think there is anything like that.

I have never tried to do anything like this, but with a quick look I think that the torpedo loadouts are located in the UPC file of each submarine folder. This is the first tube of a T-Class boat

Code:
;------------------------------------------------------------
;                         BOW TORPEDO
;------------------------------------------------------------

[UserPlayerUnit 1.Compartment 5.WeaponSlot 1]
ID= TorpMountB1
NameDisplayable= Torpedo Tube 1
Type=NULL
AcceptedTypes= TorpedoTube
UserCustomizable=No
IDLinkBunker=BowTorpedoRoom
IDLinkWeaponIntervalDefault1= NULL, 1942-12-31, TorpedoTube21inUS, Mk10Torpedo
IDLinkWeaponIntervalDefault2= 1943-01-01, NULL, TorpedoTube21inUS, Mk16Torpedo
ExternalNodeName3D= NULL
ExternalObjectName3D= NSS_Triton_Door02_FRU_anim01
ExternalDamageZoneTypeID3D= 58
I guess that changing/adding extra lines with the desired torpedoes (as named in the torpedo.dat) in each torpedo tube would do the trick, but I see no point in doing it when we're trying to get something realistic.

I am back. finally..

I hadn't had time to work on the model of late due to RL but I plan to immerse myself again in SH4.

@JU_88 : did you try and fix the issues we last talked about on the model ?

regards

keltos

I'd love to but all I could possibly offer is a poorly executed faux accent with my Texan twang barely muted. Is it possible that some British submarines took Yank volunteers?

This has to be one of the most stable and complete mods outthere for SHIV, awesome work

A minor issue: Some merchants seem to have no sound associated. That or my sonarman is completely deaf...

Apart form that: Mucho bellisima!
