When Mapuc wrote "think transportation" I also thought of a railway station or an airport.. but nothing seemed to match

You are correct in so many ways regarding 'transport' and 'dropping anchor' but it is not a train station but you would still have needed to name the specific building.

Clue: There is a connection with a German city.
