Default Who, what is normal, is there a scientific and a psychological concept for the term n

When I was a young lad I remember my Mom or Dad would say to me:

You are almost a young man, so it's time to act normal.

Throughout the years and lately the last few years, it has become more common where people would post comment

No normal person would vote Left/right
or
No normal person would put their vote on Trump

This has made me scratch my head...Who, what is normal, is there a scientific and a psychological concept for the term normal?

"Normal" does not exist. *

The normal or average is a theoretical mean value that is computed out of hundred thousand single data - everything and everyone differs from the average mean value, but all added and divided through the entire mass number gets you a theroretical "normal".

* Not at this forum of course

That fishes can breath underwater, is normal. It is so normal that a breach in that normality by trying to breath at land, usually gets them killed.

Lets call this "total normality", or "objective normality".

Then there is an opinion agreement on what is to be labelled as normal. It is a label that lacks deeper relevance since it can be artifically and opportunistically redefined any moment.

Call this "relative normality", for example. In principle, it is nothign but a subjective opinion.

And then there is the statistical no9rmality that gets caluated out of data and is subject to the caölculation method and the laws of mathematics.

Call this a "mean value" or an "average value".

An abberation from the first, is called an exception. Equatorial afriocans have almost blakc skin, that is the noramlity there. A ver yfew have a pigm ent probolem and are albinos, they are white as snow. Butr that is just an exception form the rule.

An abberation from the second is just a different opinion.

An abberation from the third, is desribed by statistical terms like variance and standard deviation, and others. These are descriptive.

[REDACTED]

I probably shouldn't have written all of that. But recent events have gotten me a little ... riled up.

Anyway, "normal" is simply the most usual state of something. If I say something like: "The sky is normally blue.", all one can infer is that it might be another color sometimes. There are plenty of ways to be "normal". Should we all try to be as normal as possible? I don't think so.
