Absolutely! his 'jock strap or 'suspensory' on display at the Little Big Horn Museum....along with his socks.... which I viewed in '78 during a truck trip.

(technically, his Rawson’s Patent Elastic Self-Adjusting U. S. Army Suspensory Bandage C-7A Size 5) can be found here. No doubt it prevented 'shear' misery associated with the McClellan cavalry saddle of the 1870's!!
