Reading the world news and wondering how the hell we ended up in this mess. Evolution, we need to talk.

Getting the HELL out of California tonight!

Anyone that lives out here near LA? Worst freaking drivers I've ever had to put up with!
New York and New Jersey, as much as I hate those places, have better drivers!
Houston? You all make LA drivers look like Driver Trainees!
I'd be in prison for road rage if I had to stay near LA much longer!

You know nothing! Between combat-driven 18-wheeler loads of Stockton Ca. tomato paste into lower Manhattan, NY; Presdio, Tx onions to Chicago; Yucatan Mex. watermelons from Nogales Az. into lower L.A.; and 20 years: night patrols in 'Frisco and Oaktown CA! I guarantee the worst town in 'Merica is Boston, Mass. where unbridled "up your's-middle finger" agression is the norm over standard
defensive metropolitan vehicular chutzpah That said, I'll drive in Edinburgh Scotland...but no Yank should attempt it in London, England proper! There are superb cabbies and the underground Metro for that. Have a safe escape to Ohio!

Interesting week. It seems that all the things that insisted on going wrong are suddenly going right again. They've stopped putting bandages on the swelling all through my legs and are going to start a body-wrap treatment that kneads the fluid, moving it around. This will go on for an hour a day, I'll have 22 hours of wearing the wraps like bandages, and one hour in which I won't wear any bandages, allowing me time to take a shower.

Last December I had a cataract removed from from my eye. They were supposed to take out the other two weeks later, but the first wouldn't refused to heal properly. Now the Ophthalmologist, my regular Doctor, the Diabetes Nurse and the Liver Specialist are all ganging up on me saying "That Cataract has to come out now!" So pretty soon my second cataract is finally getting done.

There is no way to measure exactly what's wrong with the Liver, but other functions are affected. A couple of days ago the Liver Specialist told me how much better my kidneys are doing.

Add in the fact that it's easier to climb the stairs and overall things are looking up. My sister will be glad to know that it no longer looks like I can plan on dying next month.

WATCHING 1959 MOVIE: 'GIANT BEHEMOTH'(ultimate submarine finale!) on TCM channel; HAVING COFFEE AND FRESH BRAN MUFFINS AND READING THE W.S.J.; ALL WHILE GETTING ROBOCALLED TO DEATH ON BOTH CELL PHONES AND MY ARCHAIC LAND LINE...I'm contemplating actually mowing the yards whilst skies are overcast and temps cool for a change!
