What are the main differences between RFB and OMEGU?
which one is more challenging?

currently I am playing careers in both American and German campaigns; I have: RFB + RSRD + OM + minor mods (Das Boot speech, real clothes, radio stations)

I know I cannot install OMEGU since it will conflict with RFB, and if I uninstall RFB, I won't be able to use OMEGU's with the American campaign
To answer your question based on some resent test is that you "should" be able to play RSRDC + OM + OMEGU. I'm working no a change in the next version of OMEGU that will allow you to play both US and German sides

Default OMEGU v200 Hotfix 1

OMEGU v200 Hotfix1 is a new "scene.dat" that corrects the unacceptable detection range in fog. This is a "mandatory" fix for OMEGU.

Download link in first post.

As far as the "free cam mode" I can't help you.

IRT "radar rotate buttons"

backup the Command.cfg in Data\Cfg
Open Command.cfg with wordpad
go to line 551

Change

[Cmd100]
Name=Strafe_up
Ctxt=1,2,3,5,9,11
Key0=0x24,R,"Home"
Key1=0x24,Rc,""
Key2=0x67,R,""
Key3=0x67,Rc,""

to

[Cmd100]
Name=Strafe_up
Ctxt=1,2,3,5,9,11
Key0=0x24,Rc,""
Key1=0x67,R,""
Key2=0x67,Rc,""

then go to line 576 and change

[Cmd102]
Name=Strafe_down
Ctxt=1,2,3,5,9,11
Key0=0x23,R,"End"
Key1=0xb1,Rc,""
Key2=0x61,R,""
Key3=0x61,Rc,""

to

[Cmd102]
Name=Strafe_down
Ctxt=1,2,3,5,9,11
Key0=0xb1,Rc,""
Key1=0x61,R,""
Key2=0x61,Rc,""

save the file

Default New changes for OMEGU

I'm think of adding the following to the next release of OMEGU and would like some opinions:

Looks good. I especially like the idea of moving the message box. It always seemed to get in the way. Could you make it as transparent as possible?

I love the smaller clock and the old style tools but I personally think the message box looks a little bit weird there. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be awesome.

Since I see you're tweaking OM and OMEGU here's a few things on my wish list, some of those are available as separate mods but it might be nice to have built in:

1- Historically accurate German flags (Controversial I guess but might be optional install)
2- Darker background for recognition manual
3- Visual detection problems for contacts in some circumstances. (I know this is beyond OM and OMEGU, I'm just saying.)
4- Being used to TMO I really miss some buttons on the menu bar, specifically Open Select Tube, ID Target, Weather Report, Nearest Visual Contact and Max Range at Current speed. These buttons would be awesome to have in OM too.
5- I would love to be able to change skins for all U-Boats to add emblems and stuff but I think you already said they were all in some .dat file and it couldn't be done.
6- Smaller objective icons on the nav map would be nice too.

Anyway these are just some ideas if you need them. (Smaller clock and tools used to be on that list but no more )

Also since I'm on the subject I've made a small mod that I've been messing with in the last week, it changes a few things in the Office, like the map on the wall, the background in the window, the Transfer screen and the scrolling background map when you get your orders. I haven't released it yet but if you like it and want to include it in OM or OMEGU please go right ahead. Link is below.

Thanks for all your hard work on OM, OMEGU and RSRDC, SH4 wouldn't be the same without them.
