What I learned from this clip:
1. Jim looks pretty smashing with hair. 2. I had no idea Jim was afraid of Steed. 3. Jim can run pretty fast.

Went and donated blood then for the first time. A nice experience, I'll likely do it again after the obligatory two months of waiting have passed.
The only thing I couldn't understand is why the nurses kept asking if I'm OK. Or actually I can understand it and that it's their job, but I was more confused about what should not be OK with me. Especially when I had before the experience heard from everyone how you feel woozy for the rest of the day and whatnot. They made it sound like you're giving half of your heart away and so did the nurses. I barely felt the needle, and after the bag was full, I didn't feel any different. I waited for five minutes on the bed just because I was told to, hopped up and walked back home without any symptoms. If anything, I felt like I could have done it again just as well. I mean compared to losing 1,5 litres of blood like I once did in an accident, this didn't even sting. Anyway, looking forward to doing it again.

I have an appointment in 50 minutes to give a pint of my finest too.
Well done you, hope it goes to a worthy cause.

Last time I gave blood for tests I fainted 5 minutes later. Scary in the beginning, funny at the end.

All done, just on coffee and biscuits now before going home. Bit annoyed as I had appointment and arrived early whereas a colleague arrived without one and was gone before I'd been seen.

I've never donated blood , but I regard doing so as an honorable act.
I try to persuade myself into doing it, but I am afraid of needles. Even having a needle in the veins for the 20 seconds when they check your blood at the doctor creeps me out. I just can't imagine how I could handle 10 minutes. |
