Edit 09/2012:

Announcing WOTA: Seehund Type XXVIIb

"WOTA: Seehund Type XXVIIb" will be the first release of the "WOTA: Wolves of the Atlantic" series.

It's about midget submarines only, so you can think about it as a kind of reduced version of the final WOTA subsim.
To increase development speed it will offer less types of enemy ships and because it's about midgets it will use a portion of the map limited to the historical area of operations and range of the Seehund.

Postings about "WOTA: Seehund Type XXVIIb" starts at page #5 of this thread: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...=163753&page=5

You want to help me to finish the project(s)?:

Just spread the word! And/or join the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/WOTA.Wolves.of.the.Atlantic

If you are a modder: Your (own) ship models are welcome! I'm a (broke) one man show and any good ships will help me to finish the games faster.
(later I'll implement a modding interface for at least the desktop versions of the final WOTA subsim)

You might have noticed that Silent Hunter for iPhone comes out these days.

SH won't be your only possible choice on the iPhone for a submarine simulation in the future.
After one year of work it's time to present a first preview of "WOTA - Wolves of the Atlantic"

"WOTA - Wolves of the Atlantic" for iPhone and iPod touch.
(C) 2009-2010 by Mark Hessburg. (Currently in development)

A full scale U-Boat simulation, career orientated game play (1939-1945), the Game World contains the whole Atlantic, North Sea and Mediterranean Sea. You won't be limited to fight your Battles just in tiny static Missions. Dynamic Campaign and Wolfpacks! All important german WWII U-Boats Classes can be used in the game - including interiors!

The game is currently in development. It will be a sim, not arcade.

Watch a first preview VIDEO here http://www.wolves-of-the-atlantic.com
(Shows how the game looks using the external camera, some interiors are also shown but without textures)

wow that's looking good, i don't own iphone or cell phones for that matter and never intend too. I hate those gadgets. Just a simple land line phone where you actually have to talk to others not text, yes that's right phones were meant for talking folks! BUT That game might convince me to get a iphone one day.

You won't need a subscription based phone to play.

Thanks, I'm trying to squeeze out any bit of performance out of the first ARM7 devices.

Yes, WOTA will be available for all ARM7 iOS devices (iPhone 3GS, iPod touch3 32mb, iPad 1 and higher) as a universal app at native device resolution and with enhanced graphics on newer devices.

The (later) desktop version will be available for PC, Mac OS X and Linux with dramatically enhanced graphics compared to the iOS version. It will also offer a modding interface to add your own ships etc. And there will be a way to exchange your saved mission states between the iOS and the Desktop version. Another idea is to create an iOS App as a controller for the Desktop version later.

It's also written in the name of this thread but the change of the title is not visible when viewing the "General Games Discussion" board. :-/

Really sorry, I've already posted it on facebook a while ago and I forgot to post it here too: Another delay because I am forced to move to a new apartment including renovating the old and new one and building a new kitchen, also had other jobs to do. In about two weeks I will continue the development (full time) and I will tell no other release date till I am 100% certain that this is the final release date, I don't want to let people who wait for it down again.
I will show new movies before.
