Default SH2 on Windows XP

After many years with Windows 98SE, I am finally ready to update to Windows XP.
Are there any specific problems to be concerned about when installing and running SH2 on XP ?
I heard about "indexing" for the SH2 folder...

Any advice and specific instructions will be welcome.

Thanks

Mine runs fine, though I don't play it anymore. Destroyer Command works as well, and I do play that now and then.

Only problems I ever have is a function key will make the game crash. I just re-install and it usually works fine.

No problems here. Playing both SHII and DC on Windows XP SP2.

Default Install Destroyer command first.

I had a Problem when I first got XP.
I called UBI tech Suppoart and they explained SH II neds some files located in Destroyer Command, thats the easy way of saying you have to load DC on your Machine first , then SH II.
If you do that it should work fine

That is not good news !!!

Are you absolutely sure that DC is needed to run SH2 on windows XP....it makes no sense to me since both SH2 and DC were released well before windows XP was released...

I recently loaded SH2 stand alone on my newish PC with XP and it seems to work well. I'm new though to games, so I could be wrong. I've played for about 20 hours over a few days with a nice trouble free run.
