Help finding a new Navy sim game

Hello everyone.

It's been ages since I last posted. I think the last time I was active was back during the prime of Dangerous Waters.
I've been itching to get back into a PC Sub/Navy sim, but I'm pretty out of the loop as far as to what has happened with this genre.

Has anything new been released, indie or otherwise, that is worth picking up and playing these days? Have the old games been perfected with mods now? Does DW/Harpoon even run anymore on Windows 8 machines?

Both Harpoon Classic and Harpoon 3 versions will run on Win8 machines.

Well, speaking only for myself, after having solved some nasty computer issues, I am getting ready to start another SH4 career.
