Herr Kapitan,

Mit all due respect, you did not answer the question.

For those of us that would like to pass the hat, how do we go about it?

Highest Regards and Happy Holidays,
Notewire.

Thank you for your thoughts Notewire...

...but GWX is a freeware mod. We did it to give to the community in hopes of vastly improving a great game... for the love of that game... and the mystique that is tied to the U-boat itself.

We cannot take your money... not only would it violate the law... but it would corrupt the deep passionate feeling for the work we did. Involving money would just change things in the wrong direction for us.

Thank you for your gratitude though... That is the only thanks we need. Getting GWX up and out... represents a very difficult journey for us... and for all of the flames and arrows we've been forced to endure... It is a journey we are proud to have taken.

It won't be long until we lay down our tools... but the memory of the journey we took will be with us forever.

The people we've gotten to know like family... inspite of thousands of miles... is worth it all.

If you enjoy our work... our mission has been accomplished.

Merry Christmas Herr Notewire!

~S!~

Hi guys

LONG time since I posted here, I have a few questions:

I am about to install the vanilla game from scratch.

1) Do I still need to install the latest official patch?

2) Is this a TRUE "all in 1 mod" pack, or do I still need some of the smaller mods such as "improved bow waves" etc?

Thx for any help

Yes you still need the 1.4b patch

Well as far as most ppl are concerned its the only package you will need
But ppl like to customise their installs so you may want to add some things of your own
Give it a whirl first and see if you like it as is

ohh also

was there a way to make the game run at higher resolutions?

I need 1680x1050. I think I edited the config file before in the game folder, and then set it to "READ ONLY" so that it couldn't be changed back by the game folder.

I can't remember if that actually worked though.

I've finally gotten through the extensive but extremely informative manual. Now I've got a question or 3 about the AI U-Boats in GWX. What function(s) do these AI U-Boats have. I see various mentions that the stock version of SH3 doesn't allow for AI Subs to dive or re-surface. Does the stock version also prohibit their use of torpedoes as well? I see it mentioned that AI Subs are doomed to their AA and Deck Gun weaponry only, but what about the AI U-Boats? Will they ever be able to use fish? With this in mind, I've located these 2 mods: German AI Subs Mod V2.0 and Wolfpack Mod V2.0 here:http://web.telia.com/~u18230645/ , and I was wondering if you guys used these when designing GWX. Unfortunatly I've never experienced these mods but they seemed similar in function according to their description.

Finally installing GWX now!

The subs are basically the same as the link you posted but the ones in GWX only use the topside weapons
The GWX team are still hopefull of creating a proper AI torpedo to use in submerged subs - nothing against Sergs workaround which is the best way at the moment

Und frohe Weihnachten to you too, Kpt Lehman. We are all indebted for your valuable work. I am quite sure I could legally give you money, and defend myself in court But I respect your wishes. I hope the fruits of your labor are more rewarding than even the trip itself was. I know we are all greatful.

Gut Jagd und Shun Nacht,
Notewire.
