I meant in the context of the demise of a certain individual...well sad in my book as I thought they played the character well.

Trying to figure out what to watch tonight....

It's between Stalker, Scarface and Apocalypse Now.

I just finished watching Christmas Carol. A good old Christmas flick.

Once my file transfer is done I'm going to watch Joyeux Noel, about the 1914 Christmas Truce...100 years ago today.

Which version? There are several. Of course Alistair Sim is considered the best, but I'm kind of fond of the George C. Scott version.

@ Swampy:

Do you mean the one with Patrick Stewart or the one starring George C. Scott? I can never decide which I prefer. The original one (Alastair Sim) was called simply "Scrooge". I try to watch at least one of them each year; last year I managed all three and this year (so far) have watched the last two. Which do you like most?

Wouldn't be Christmas otherwise...

The original with Alistair Sim.

Actually that version was second, released in 1951. The original was made in 1938 and starred Reginald Owen.

Okay, I will sit corrected. The second one.

Looks like maybe we're all wrong: the silent "short" version above was made in 1910, another silent ("Scrooge", known as "Old Scrooge" in the US) was produced in 1913, then a short starring Russell Thorndike in 1923, then the first talkie in 1935 (called "Scrooge" again), after which the one mentioned by Steve in 1938. There were of course a number of subsequent versions including the Muppet one (actually pretty entertaining, my son has it).

I got this info from "Den of Geek!"

I'm not surprised. There usually are many versions if the original source is a classic book. I didn't think to look under other names.
