Default Anybody seen movie "Below"?

Have had 3 people asked me if I'd seen this sub movie "Below"? I finally figured out that it is a horror movie. Has anybody seen this? I've seen every sub movie made, and I'd never heard of it. Is it any good. or

I've seen the movie nikimcbee. You are correct it is nothing more than a horroror flick set on a US submarine. It could have just as easily been set on a train. AMC has run it a couple of times recently.

There are a few interior shots of the boat, but nothing you couldn't see by watching Operation Petticoat. And the former has better actors.

My two cents.

Cheers

EDIT: Looks like AMC will air the movie again 01 AUG

Seen about half of it. I'll never get those minutes of my life back. Don't waste your time with this movie. It blows canal water.

If nothing else, the beginning has great shots of a PBY and also of the sub. If you like horror movies on top of sub movies then I would give this a 3/5. Just don't expect Das Boot!

Yeah it's kind of lame. I did like the part where the German DD used the chains though.

I just finished watching it. Of course it' not Das Boot, but still, for a horror movie, it was a decent submarine movie. I wonder about the grapples though, never heard of this ASW method. Was it actually used during the war ?

You're right, but if it's Cary Grant in WWII, I'd probably go with "Father Goose".

The Japanese tried to use grapples but it was not a successfull tactic.

I've watched it a couple of times recently on AMC. I kinda like it. Not great but better than U-571 (I know that doesn't take much).

I bought this movie on DVD because it never made the cinema in the UK and I was curious to see it. Overall it's not a bad film if you accept it for what it is, a horror movie. If your looking for something more interesting from a subamarine point of view, then forget it.
