Default Intruducing FlowMan77

hi, kaleuns.

as a newb to subsim.com i want to take the chance to tell u something about me.

i am a 36 years old guy from emden/germany who as an employee loves to cut steel using the force of highly pressurized water. i am quite interested in simulations for the pc. my favorite sims for example are falcon bms, sh3, steel beasts pro pe. in general i am interested in how things work or better: i like to take a deeper look and maybe thats why i spend some of my time with simulations; even if they are not enjoyable cos of bugs.

after the bad experience with silent hunter 3 back in its days i didn't spend any attention to silent hunter 4 or silent hunter 5. i don't wanna say that i didn't like what mods or their free- time developers were capable of doing but i don't want to support well paid game developers that are not.
thats why i left the subsims behind for a long long time. since yesterday i am a owner of silent hunter 5 (shame on me). i would blame this fact mainly to the film "das boot". i watched it yesterday and after that... i couldn't resist. i paid 10 Euros to download the stuff.
Shure i wasn't very happy with what is calles silent hunter 5. but i 've been warned and i know there are some hardcore fans skilled and encouraged enough to do what the so called professionals where not able to do - i know there are guys like u...

with my little contribution i want to say "thank u" for the countless hours of work for your own pleasure and for others who put ove into what this simulation is all obout.
i hope from this time on i have the possibility to track down all the beautifull work from the community and for the community. Maybe by following your posts i'll find out how to make gold out of trash.

many special regards from germany and good hunting!

Hello and Welcome to Subsim!

A couple days ago, I saw some SBP PE screenshots and I literally dropped what I was doing and spent about an hour researching it. I want it... It looks like an amazing game.

SH3 was incredibly improved with GWX. Give it another shot.

hi, Red October1984.
steel beasts pro pe rocks if u like tank driving the tactical way or if u want a tank simulation which is absolutely close to the real thing. the professional version (not pe) in fact is used to train tank crews all over the globe. but u might already know.

you don`t want to judge steel beast by its 3d engine (which is not very bad to be true). but until now the main focus was the tactics. as far as i can trust the news the developers managed to hire a 3d programmer who was involved in the development of falcon bms 4.32's 3d engine. take a look at what is falcon now and there is a good chance of dx11 capabilities of steel beasts pro pe in the future.

guys i wanna thank u for your welcomes and after studying some of the stuff here i think its the right place to be when it comes to silent hunter.
i will give silent hunter 3 + gwx mod another try. so thank u for the advice. i remember myself using gwx with much pleasure when it first was released years ago. if the latest gwx3.0 gold (guess its like that) is an improvement over that... omg
what i find quite funny is that until now no one adviced me to download any mod for silent hunter 5. is it that bad mates?

special regards from germany and good hunting, kaleuns
