Ha! How about that! It's good to see the Class 43s getting some work in over there, I wonder if they still have the original Valenta engines, we pulled ours out and replaced them with boring MTUs.

Well, this is a bit awkward, I'm at work at the moment so I can't post one yet, will have to do later on today.

The Valentia's are gone. XPT power cars were originally powered by a Paxman Valenta 12RP200L engine with a single turbocharger. These were replaced from June 2000 by Paxman VP185 12-cylinder, diesel electric engines with four low-pressure turbochargers and two high-pressure turbochargers boasting 1,492 kW / 2,000 horsepower that had been successfully used by some British Rail High Speed Trains since 1994. Traction equipment was manufactured in England by Brush Traction of Loughborough.

Ah, so you've got the same as us, that's a shame, the Valentas had a hell of a scream to them when run at full throttle. Having a Valenta HST going through a platform at full tilt just as you're getting off a train on the other side of the platform is quite a jump scare.

Hey, if you'd been at work from 11pm to 7am, you'd want a lie in too!

Right then...

It's pretty obvious that this is from a train, but can anyone tell me what one?
