CAOD includes a lot of extras like an online manual and interviews with 8 u-boat commanders. That's why I installed it; to watch them.

This was the best part of AOTD,
Silent hunter also had some great interviews!
I wonder if they have these interviews on youtube?

I have an audio tape of Erich Topp. It's a great interview.

I have been there too. Fuel range was the main thing that annoyed me in AOD, it was much to far.
St.Nazaire - New York - and back - and still a whole lot of fuel left in a type VII,
or the same thing with a type IX and the carribean islands ...
Did you ever experience any of the crash bugs?

CAOD was a buggy, but that's because I was running it in XP. Nothing was worse than sinking a battleship and having the game crash afterwards.

I liked AOD better than SH. Mostly because I find the u-boat war more interesting than the pacific.

I also liked the fact there was a single area in AOD, SH had different areas instead of one giant Pacific ocean. The ocean simulation and weather effects in AOD were better. Although people say the graphics in SH were better, SH used 2.5D ships, while AOD used real 3D ships. Although SH had cleaner graphics, I think the graphics in AOD were more advanced from a technical standpoint.

They are both excellent games though.

Actually I liked them both about the same. I liked the fact that with AOTD, that other U-boats would be sent in to attack a convoy you were shadowing. I always found that part quite intriging.

That part was cool, but my old computer did like that part. 386! back in 1994?

Another neat thing in SHCE, was coming across japanese submarines. They were hard to hit though.
