Thanks for posting In comparison the FW 190 was a better plane than the ME 109, but for sounds alone even if the latter needs more 'bass' nothing beats that hissing supercharger sound..
The Merlin and Griffon is always top of course, but you seldom hear the german counterparts.

^ Since you liked that Catfish, I think you might enjoy this video as well. This is described as the last known flying example of an original FW-190 in existence. It is also described as having the original and authentic BMW 801 engine.

I hope you and everyone else enjoys it, Catfish.

Considering the other vintage WW2 aircraft in the video, I'm assuming this is part of a war birds air show or perhaps a consortium dedicated to preserving WW2 aircraft.

↓ Love the sounds of those aircraft. And appreciate that they just let you enjoy the aircraft, too often airshows play music or have someone constantly talking.

I agree with you. I had the extraordinary good luck to attend a " War Birds " air show. In attendance was a P-51D model mustang and a T-6 trainer I believe. A B-29 and i think the B-17 that crashed 2 years ago. I think there was a B-25 Mitchell there as well.

We were allowed to board the aircraft except the P-51 and take pictures and I took a lot of them including the bomb bays. If you had paid in advance, you were also given rides aboard the aircraft, including the P-51. I think this is a great way of keeping history alive. The German war machine was known for creating excellent equipment and " thinking out of the box." The Horton brothers Ho-229 flying wing is just one example. I watched / saw a National Geographic documentary where a full scale model / mock up was constructed to test it's " Stealth Properties."

I will post the pictures I took in the near future and probably do it as Kapitan does. He creates a folder and posts a link to it here in Subsim. Kapitan loves to take pictures of aircraft and Submarines and is gracious enough in letting us all view his great pictures.

Cheers tmccarthy.
