Default Well, that was fun!

Mikhayl and I just finished testing out the MP mission. Was quite fun . . . lethal, but fun! --grins-- He outlasted me by a wide margin!

I need to tweak it a bit, but it looks good. It was a blast!

Mikhayl, one thing I noticed, and that was when I looked at your S-boot there were no visible crew there. Looked liked ghosts were driving it. --grins--

Xo's called me to chow; if anyone wants I'll set this up again in about an hour.

oh i do when i go into dangerous situations!!!

anyways...had some sucess in the english chanel in 39'
4 ships over 10,000grt!! oh boy! all of this with 2 torps and the 40mm cannon that is actually very very effective.

but i was wondering...are you gonna tweak the model so A.you can't see tru the railings and B.clear up the little tex's and really low polys on the model itself?

ps. maybe we could edit out the third button on the gui so you can't shoot it!!
oh and check the axis of spin on the props, they wobble you can see it easy at ahead slow...

Good mod,thanks again

SMALL EDIT:
I have a small bug regarding my visual system...i get seasick in the command room at 40 knots
Once I was out fishing on a small charter boat in pretty huge seas... The guy who organised the charter said "Johnno, if you are feeling a bit sick, there is a 100% reliable method of curing sea sickness you know"

I was strugling a bit, and plenty of other people were feeding the fish... I asked him what it was.

"Go and lie down under a tree for half an hour or so"

Default made a few runs

overall greatly impressed,, had a blast and learned I need a new video card due to the high speed runs.

I played in shIII stock, with commander.

???are the torpedos suppose to come out of the tubes? did not see them leap out.

?? maybe I goofed somewhere, but the guns,, I went to positions, they are loaded and ready,, but would not turn nor fire,,, might be my goof.

must admit,, storming into a convoy,, shells everywhere flying,, LOVED it

learned also to respect the speed and her slow handling at speed. (mass vs speed)
on the first high speed run, sank a small freighter by ramming her at the forward deck,, and flying heads over heals over her. wow

on the second run, when at speed the law of gross tonnage applies, when you hit a tanker at 40 knots,, he wins,

third run,, stood off, fired at range, made a kill, ran away (more realistic)

a very respectful modification. !

more runs to follow when I am not working

Mikhayl and I played a MP game I whipped up yesterday. It was pretty fun. I made a few minor changes to it. If anyone is interested I can have it run during the day and evening today. Just drop me a line and I'll set it up.

Just make sure you're set-up is stock/1.4 patched SHIII with only the mods S-Boot BETA 0.1 and S-Boot Generic Camera enabled.

If there seems to be a desire for it I'll create a mission for GWX. I'm not sure if what I have right now is GWX-compatible (although it should be) but it's easy enough to make one for GWX. Also, if you've a specific idea you'd like to see for a S-boot MP just let me know.

Yes, the torpedo come out of the tubes. This is barely visible though from the bridge but you should at least see the splash when the torpedo enters water. You can see all that better from external view, even if the fixed torpedo door kinda spoils the effect.

For the guns, make sure you have enough crew assigned, the 37mm will not work with a single man. Also I noticed that when you assign crewmen and jump right away on the 37, it needs 1 or 2 seconds to be active, but then it's fine.

@Albrecht : count me in I was just thinking, maybe playing with OLC's gui and according camera, the side dials and all-screen-tdc make life a lot easier in the heat of battle :hmm:

sidenote : I've just tested some changes to the damage model, mostly things that I had overlooked in first place. Now that IS tough, usually 5/6 shells send you to the bottom, but now a single well aimed shell can also take out half of your crew, better hide'em in the stern quarters when attacking and leave nobody on the deck
I just have to get rid of a small annoying side effect and it will be almost ready for a beta 0.2 :hmm: (when torpedo tube 1 is hit, the message "torpedo tube 1 damaged sir" keeps poping up every 5 seconds)

Also I slowly began to take care of the menu thing, I'm looking for a good coloured profile of a S-100, possibly around 640 pix wide. Anyone ? :hmm:
Sea Tiger, I didn't have any trouble firing any of the funs, and I went to all three stations, too. But I also had the flak station fully manned, so that might have been your problem.

Mikhayl, I guess I could do it with OLC GUI. But I've only recently downloaded it and have only just started practicing. I'm not at all used to the interface and, well, at 40 knots that doesn't give a lot of reaction time. But if you want I'll install that. Otherwise, if anyone's interested, I'll start it up in a bit with the stock interface.
