More damage, Anson this time. Near dark, so I didn't dive thinking it might pass by. It didn't.
276 Km off Freetown, a medium tanker and troop ship. Too dark to see the U.S flags until it was too late (May 41). This tour is just going from bad to worse. With hull integrity which must be like tissue paper by this time, I think I will head home.

Even with the tissue paper hull, now could I resist this large convoy contact the next day.
Calculated to arrive in full dark. As it turned out, wonderfully gloomy and rough. A banzai surface attack bypassing the front escort. Two large cargo went down. Heading off somewhere quiet to bring in the externals and heading home before my luck runs out. Large cargo

North of Cape Verde, meandering homewards. Tempted to make use of available resupply opportunity in the Canaries, or maybe just plod back to Lorient and make repairs.

U-49 trying to make the most of the bad weather, July 1940, about a hundred nm east of Scapa. Not ideal torpedo weather, but too many targets and a relentless storm caused patience to run low. I gave it my best shot, and had around a 75% hit rate as three C2s passed nearby within a few hours of each other.
RB's effects mod hard at work in this shot (was v1.06 though). Love it Another victim appears through the fog: Crippled from the first hit, we took position on his far side before finishing the job after the lifeboats were launched, as the Atlantic threatened to drown the fellows taking shelter on the bridge: A day later, some distance west of Scapa, the storm relented... But the winds didn't and we skipped over and through the swells for another 48 hours at least Apologies for a lot of pics in one go |

From my recent W@W Patrol!
Mine-laying! Yes gentleman, the light you see are the lights of the Dover Harbor! Tommieland! I waited till nightfall; Luck for us, the thick fog and rain remained the whole week and i felt i could surface deck-awash for a small sprint in the right direction and fresh air! Testing Tomi_o99's New snorkel and Turm In Bergen. Did i tell you i really love Bergen. ITs nice for sailing and not to mention the pretty natural Blondes with Cobalt-blue eyes! A Bergen random Shot!

Spotted whilst passing from the north African towards the Spanish coast. Armed large cargo.
A pair of Ansons tried to spoil the party, nearly did. But not quite.

Who says you can't get close to a convoy on the surface.
Don't know what Bernards looking at. ...and my reward, a mere 31000 tons.
