Most of the time I'm intentionally not targetting escorts as it was rare among real kaleuns and I believe - much less effective in real life than in game. But this time destroyer was hit accidentally so I wanted to finish him off (he already had his stern visibly deeper in water).

The second torpedo turned out to be a dud and bounced off destroyer's bow The destroyer then changed his course and instead of coming directly to me, made a circle around to get me from the side. Luckily, his depth charges missed a bit.

Great fun

Default Welcome aboard!

6PNP @ Niedowidek: Actually not rare...infrequent perhaps: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Royal_Navy_losses_in_World_War_II & https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Navy_losses_in_World_War_II# Destroyers (jeeze! the Kamikazi's were the worst )

Aircraft in the air reveal all submerged contacts at shallow or periscope depth.
You can go to the tactical map and select the sonar contact to target it.
Then on the bombing run, a blue marker should appear on the ocean to show the position of the submerged contact.
