Default Re make of "The Dam Busters"

http://www.timeout.com/film/news/1373.html

Lets hope he gets it right. But being that he is a big WW2 buff maybe he will. I haven't really liked a film he's done so far. Although to be fair I'm not a King Kong fan or a Rings fan. Not my cup of tea. But this might have a chance.

We need more good WW2 movies.

Well at least at this stage Jackson is saying "I want to keep it as authentic as possible." Let's hope he stays true to that conviction. A lot can change during the making of a film.

I agree and after my 30 plus year career in films I've seen too many good stories reduced to Hollywood garbage. I am trying so hard to avoid this with "Of Ice and Steel". It's fiction yes, but accurate and true to what we all love about a good film or book.

I hope he gets it right.

I think maybe a week after this was announced Peter Jackson said it was just a rumor and he wasn't making the movie.

That's too bad. Films today bore me to tears. Last thing I saw I actually liked was Letters.

Oh and the Illusionist wasn't bad.

I suggest you watch some quality foreign films.

Many of them are infinitely better than what Hollywood churns out.

I have and will continue to do so. I collect everything on WW2 I can get my hands on. Movies, books, RC scale aircraft, RC ships, RC subs and RC tanks. Just got to have it!

Thanks,

Steve

If they ever do a remake of the Dam Busters, I hope they don't go PC on us and get rid of the Mascot ******. He is part of the story.

Good WW2 war films are old WW2 war films. All the recent stuff is crap. They have 15 minutes of entertainment and hours of pure waste. The oldies keep me interested from start to finish.

Maybe true. But what about Band of Brothers? I think it's one of the best ever new or old. I like a lot of the old stuff. But lets face it that John Wayne stuff was a lot of fantasy.

And don't think your talking to a kid either. I turn 55 in March. I have everything from Torpedo Run to In Which We Serve. That's one of the best. No fantasy there.

I agree, Band Of Brothers is tops. The Great Raid was pretty good too. I haven't seen either of the new Eastwood Iwo Jima films, so I can't comment on them.
