What chances has Nikki Haley? I read she performs fine, and only Trump is standing in her way.

Haley has a lot of good qualities but one really bad one. She is a Neocon and part of the Washington war lobby. And that is not what polls show a significant number of GOP voters want. They want Washington to spend money at home and not on endless and very expensive proxy wars.

I did say GOP (Republican) voters. I don't know how Democrat and Independent voters feel.

I sometimes wonder if they do either.

Well I suspect that as time goes by, Jim support for the war by citizens of the countries that are giving military and financial help will wane. And if no end is in sight and no attempts by the US and some European countries to find a negotiated settlement then it will only get worse. This can't go on indefinitely. Reasonable people won't stand for it.

I think you will find that Western European countries will want the food resource Ukraine represents on their side of the conflict.

There’s ways around that . We were in Afghanistan for twenty years because we never heard that much about it in the news, it became the forgotten war. The same could become of Russia's invasion in Ukraine. If it’s out of sight and out of mind people won't care what kind or how long support continues. Unless the economy really takes a header, or the conflict remains front page news. Just look at the major disasters in East Palestine Ohio and Lahaina the administration and local government botched the response. But because the media has moved on to the next drama it makes so much easier for people to ignore continuing problems and forget about the billions going to foreign interests. On the other hand, I get the impression support will continue regardless of what people think.

Wonder how it’s going in Newsom’s sanctuary cities because New York City is gearing up to pay over $1,000,000,000 on just hotels over the next 3 years to house the flood of immigrants.
That’s what happens when you call yourself a “Sanctuary City.” But that’s just the hotel costs. NYC Mayor Eric Adams estimates the total cost of the migrant crisis will be about $12B over the next 3 years. “We are past our breaking point,” he said. “With more than 57,300 individuals currently in our care on an average night, it amounts to $9.8 million a day. Almost $300 million a month and nearly $3.6 billion a year.” Residents in NYC have had enough. In the video below, Staten Island locals were arrested for blocking migrant buses.
