If you bumped off Kim he'd only be replaced probably by someone worse!!

I don't know about anyone else, but when I watched Trump cross the border, two things came to mind:

1. Would the NK version of ICE arrest him as undocumented and hold him for deportation; and,

2. If we offered to lift the the sanctions against NK, would they promise to keep him?

Saw this picture of Obama at the DMZ and I wondered it the North Koreans or our own troops were on the other side of that bullet proof glass.

Getting NK and SK to sign a peace treaty and perhaps unite these two countries

Nice thought Markus, but I think the only road for unity will include a complete change in leadership to include the same freedom for NK that SK now enjoys ...

Perhaps a nuclear accident or even the threat of a brink of war (with his generals over throwing Kim) would prove that Kim is not the God he has everyone in his country thinking he is

I would think it obvious, he's trying to show Kim that we are not out to destroy them. IE make peace. Maybe you would feel better if Trump went back to calling Kim Little Rocket Man and threatening war?

I think Trump realized he was, once again, about to leave a major diplomatic event without making any serious and/or significant gains to show for the effort; he also was a bit marginalized at the G20, again, with the other global leaders just sort of tolerating him, again; he needed something to show for his frequent flyer miles at taxpayer expense and he need to try to make himself seem relevant, so he cooked up the NK meeting to look like he was 'being presidential'; all in all, not much more than a photo-op with the added effect of giving more legitimacy to Kim on the world stage; Kim is thoroughly playing Trump for a proper sucker...
