Thank you for your response!

Everything on the board comes from the original pic I found on the net. That explains the time, bearing, range and the swastikas.
I totally agree that a German language version in the boxes would be more authentic and accurate. If someone knows what to put in there, just give me the info and I’ll fix that.

About the swastikas: I will of course make a second version without those! It may be easier to print it at a public place without those aswell

I tried to print it on A3, and as you said you got plenty of space to make notes in the margins.

I will also make links to the Solid Works files if someone is interested in editing the CAD file by themselves.

Time = Zeit
Bearing = Peilung
Range = Entfernung

Short form to fit this into the table.. not 100% sure:
Peilung => Peil.
Entfernung => Entf.

Apart from that, anyone knows where to find a good explanation how to actually use such a board?

Here’s a contemporary manual: https://archive.org/details/maneuver...00unit/page/n3

It’s US, as the Germans to my knowledge didn’t use such a board (they plotted on millimeter paper, and plotted true and not relative motion), but it goes over quite a few examples.

Some updates:

1. I changed the TIME, BER & RNG to ZEIT, PEIL & ENTF.

2. There are now 2 versions of the pdf with and without the swastikas.

3. You can now download the part, and drawing files to make changes of your own purposes in Solid Works.

Its now verified. If you print this pdf on A3 landscape, you will get a circle with a diameter of 200mm. 8 cm of margins to make notes on both sides of the actual board.

If you have more feedback, don´t hesitate!

Is there a specific version of solidworks, or module which is needed to edit the files? I am downloading a trial product for students/educators through this link: https://www.solidworks.nl/sw/newsdis...4_NLD_HTML.htm

Registration is in dutch, but otherwise the email with trial serial is in english. Your (I mean others intending to edit/open the drawing/part file) mileage may vary if you are from another country. The trial from the US/English page seems to be an online limited trial. I am not sure if that is sufficient to open this.

EDIT: I managed to open the files with what is installed from that link. Now find a way to print it on B4 format instead. Which I think fits better with my remaining desk space.

No, just a plain version of solid works. I made this in Solid Works 2018. But I haven’t used any fancy features in the program, so it should be backwards compatible.

If someone wants, I can export the file in any CAD format that Solid Works handles.

Nice!

I just realized that there is a better solution to print the board from Solid Works. The printer program from SW prints vectors, and the radius lines from the center of the circle becomes more clear and distinct.

I haven’t tried to change the printer settings from the pdf printer program though.
