For those of us for whom Germany is a bit far to drive, there is always Virginia

The chain gun was originally the gun on the front of the Apache (until they upgraded to 30mm) which they then inverted and put in an AFV. The CG is good as long as you know how to look after it - too much or too little grease and she'll have a stoppage. Add to that the problem with stretched link and the fact that some of them are over 20 years old (you can see the stretched chain scraping the inside of the bottom half on the really bad ones) and there are a few issues, but nothing a good crew can't deal with.

The new one keeps the same CG but it's mounted differently which solves most of these issues.

Why on earth did they have to invert it though and put all the weight on that link?
