Question about OM

I have followed the instructions and activated the mods in JSGME. How can I tell if the mod is activated? I installed...

OM v705
OM v720
OM v720 Patch 5
OMEGU v300
OMEGU v300 Patch 7

This was done on top of a stock SH4 (Steam) install.

Unlike SH3/GWX, I don't see a custom shortcut for OM. Is this correct?

The first thing you'll see is an all-new loading screen, with huge letters saying OPERATION MONSUN.

The second way you'll know is when you select GERMAN for side, and see the option to start in a Type II, Type VII or Type IX boat in 1939. The stock SH4 1.5 only has the Type IX, and the earliest start date is 1943.

GWX has a custom shortcut because it comes with its own installer. Mods that install with JSGME don't create shortcuts. You use the stock one.

Okay problem was OMEGU mod needed to be reinstalled because root folder had nested folders. See it now!

My system performance took a dive. Mouse is very slow. Are there any tweaks I can do to improve this?

One caution: The stock Steam game is SH4 v1.4, not v1.5. OM v7XX is for v1.5. Any strange or inconsistent behavior can probably be attributed to incompatibilities between v1.4 and OM.

If you search this forum, you will find lots of reports of problems with downloads of SH4 from Steam. I know nothing else about them, but it appears that Steam should be avoided as a source for SH4.
