You cannot launch SLBM's (submarine launched ballistic missiles) i have no idea why we have been on this one for what a few years now.

Actually, there is a way to make SSBN's (Ohio) launch the Tridents in SCXIIc I believe. You have to use the Ohio SSBN Batch 2 in the mission builder, and then set a Predator drone to link ground target data.
Any SCX guys around who can confirm this. I've only tried once, and it worked. But it was a long, long time ago. |

It can be done. With a few tweaks I have created an Ohio capable of launching nukes. I was designing a campaign 'crimson tide' style, around it. Three-quarters done , actually, but I haven't touched it for over a year. If I ever build up the enthusiasm to finish it I will make it available.

Aside from Clives modified Ohio, the only boomers that can launch missiles are AI boomers, marked with a (B) in the Editor directory. Place one of them a certain distance from the target, and place a recon plane of the same alliegence near the target you want nuked. The recon plane will spot the target, send the data to the boomer which will then launch.

Correct. In my mission "Belling the Cat" I have a Typhoon launching missiles at a target. I also used a drone to provide targeting data. |

Well, if people are interested, I could make the Ohio available. Realistically I don't see myself finishing off the campaign anytime in the near future - mainly through lack of motivation, but you could use the modified Ohio in missions/campaigns of your own design.
Wouldn't take me long to knock a few instructions together and put the boat on rapidshare or something if you would like it. |

Couldn't u use show truth or Auto-detect to fire an SLBM or does it HAVE to be the predator's doing? I think its odd that you can drive the typhoon but no nukes...
Could u make ur modified ohio downloadable plz? I got this Ohio mod but it doesn't work. EDIT: Just found out u made it Clive, It says to use the Ohio-NOT batch 1, at the same time it says to use the michigan, and the michigan is batch 1... but either way i try it it says:no drivable subs found. I put it in the mods folder and activated it... Last edited by Eagle1_Division; 10-02-06 at 06:49 PM. |
