Howdy ClayP
The GSP button turns on the position keeper(PK), once you enter speed, AoB and range and bearing from the TDC, click on the GSP button and the PK will follow the target. You can than check your firing solution on the attack map. The white X is the torpedo impact point, it should be right on the target. Check this thread and look for the TDC link. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=108931 As far as the AI goes I don't have any problem with them finding me, they sink me on a fairly regular basics. Just leave the periscope up too long and they come a runnin. This is with TMO and I don't think that is what you run.???? Magic |

Clay, I think you may be suffering from some mod soup, where some mods are arguing with each other and solve it by picking on you! You might pull all your mods out and check that out. If the escorts don't attack you then reinstall the game and try that. I guarantee they will attack you then.
Then you can reinstall mods one by one to see if you can figure out what combination is nerfing your escorts.

All in all the AI is easy, even with TMO, it's fairly easy to escape by doing a few things. However, with TMO, it's harder to pull off an attack. The AI does a much better job with TMO to foil your attack. The planes in TMO are much better, I've actually taken damage once from a plane at 200 ft.
Some planes drop bombs, some charges or both. To escape a dd all you basically have to do is go deeper than default. I'll let others figure out how deep you can go, but overall the depth charges have no effect if you go deep...I say that with a little reserve, because if sonar conditions are perfect, I had a bullseye that killed me at 450ft, but overall 400ft and deeper you can run flank and they will use up all their charges. If you want a harder game, cut the cam and contacts off.....that way you're stuck in your sub and can't see what the enemy is doing....like in real life. |
