Default Odd-looking German Cap

Was fiddling with the files a bit and came across this cap for the Germans:

Could someone shed some more light on this cap and its design?

It looks like the Ubisoft attempt at the Feldmutzen M/43.

I think it's supposed to be an NCO in regulation tropical dress, according to my book, since it is in the pacific I would say it is correct, the cap is supposed to be canvas. Can post a picture if you want.

Your right Reece, you can see the small holes along the seam
at the top that were for cooling.

Oh, OK. I have that same book. Didn't realize it was a Feldmutze.

Not surprised LukeFF UBI aren't very good with hats - or uniforms for that matter.

The only decent hat in SH3 was produced by the Russian modder MUTABOR and later modified by some others.

Pity he didn't do something similar for the Bordmütze ( NCO side cap) which is way too small and sits on the crewman's head like a pimple/zit on an elephants a**.

Haven't got SH4 yet (waiting for the Gold edition) so don't know anything about what this has to offer by way of uniform improvement.

Hope something better is achievable, you spend a fair amount of game time with the crew in view!

Would you post a link to this nice headgear?

Hi Hunter

Apologies for delay in replying but it took a while to find a working download of the mod. Link to Mutabor original is:-

http://forum.sukhoi.ru/showthread.php?t=33729&page=10

However. I should point out that the Mutabor cap is rather low-res and is not the one in the above screen-pic. It was subsequently modified by two other modders but the links to these downloads are dead.

The very best version was done by Privateer. He reworked the textures and removed some of the minor imperfections. Unfortunately I missed this completely and that link has expired too.

Cskate

PS: Will send PM shortly

I still have the version I re-worked.
I always wondered who did the original.
And the Read me included in my version states that I
did not do the original work,
and I asked for info as to who did.

Seems I can fix that Read-Me now.
Thanks!!

I have 5 systems with numerous internal and external storage
devices.

As soon as I find it I'll post it for D/L.

Great news, Privateer

Look forward to d/l.

Those little holes on the cap-top might've been small but they were annoying when cap was worn by fair-haired crew member!

Tks again
